BRIEF 07: PERSONAL MANIFESTO//DESIGN DEVELOPMENT//OUGD603

personal manifesto : design development
designs left:

  • collaborate
  • stay positive
I have two more montages to make plus the front cover for the folder.  The format has slightly changed as I feel it would probably work best for the designs if they were placed in a sleeve rather than a french fold publication, the designs will benefit from not being folded over.  These are some design plans for the 'stay positive' manifesto point and the front cover/sleeve for the designs to go in.

stay positive:
For the 'stay positive' design I wanted to print out a load of quotes and designs that I liked, quotes about staying positive, inspiring images etc. and make a wall display which would then be photographed and used as the main image on the poster.  I did a similar thing in the development stages of my COP module which I thought worked quite well, displaying a wall of Frank Picks quotes which made up an image of the London Underground Roundel.
For the sleeve of my manifesto I wanted to design a set up that reflected me, using objects and images that I have or that I like to get a feel for the type of aesthetics I like or the type of designer I am.  Things that ive already thought about in terms of props would be some Morris books, my sketch books, my self branding stamp, my wooden box, and then my personal photographs of Paris.  My logo would also be included in this.
The final photograph would be the cover, with some important text added over it to give the manifesto cover some context.  Possibly all the manifesto points written on the front, not in too much detail, however, as the rest of the point should be uncovered by looking in the manifesto at the design visuals.
