After collecting a selection of sketches from people and playing around with them against the photos, I decided I wan't really liking the direction the designs were going in, and although I could use this research/photographs for another part of the brief, I didn't feel it was quite right for the promotional material. I then came up with a new idea for the visuals of the poster, still keeping in with the theme of childhood toys. I went out and looked for a few props/objects that could be photographed, and also gathered some from around my house. The older the design was the better I thought it would look on camera, more authentic and also targeting an older audience, which is important as children wouldn't attend the museum by themselves.
photographing toys:
I thought this could be used as part of a promotional poster series for the museum of childhood in general as opposed to a specific exhibition. Adding simple text and information with the main focuses on the visual (toy) The only problem with this design is I feel it could end up looking really similar to my unsung heroes promotional material. I have tried to keep these briefs as separate as possible as I feel aesthetically they could end up looking quite similar. Because of the subject matter and the manner of the briefs I feel I might need to take this brief in a slightly different direction to avoid a similar design style over lapping with them.
