BRIEF 07: PERSONAL MANIFESTO//RESEARCH FOR DESIGNING//OUGD603

For this brief I wanted to have the freedom of creating some images that I specifically wanted to design for aesthetic purposes rather than any major emphasise on the concept.  The images will speak about me as a designer and an individual but the outcomes are for personal development for my practice.  I have started collecting folders of photographs and images I have and looking at things that inspire me in terms of music and writing etc.  Whilst looking through old pictures and visuals I have I came across a theme of photographing windows which also ties in with the practical element of COP that I was looking at in second year (voyeurism)  I thought depending on how many photos I have/styles I could use this to make some of the inside french fold design for the manifesto.  I know two songs by two of my favourite bands/musicians with the mention of 'window' in which I thought could compliment the visuals quite well.

Bob Dylan - 'Can you please crawl out your window?'

He sits in your room, his tomb, with a fist full of tacks
Preoccupied with his vengeance
Cursing the dead that can’t answer him back
I’m sure that he has no intentions
Of looking your way, unless it’s to say
That he needs you to test his inventions

Can you please crawl out your window?
Use your arms and legs it won’t ruin you
How can you say he will haunt you?
You can go back to him any time you want to

He looks so truthful, is this how he feels
Trying to peel the moon and expose it
With his businesslike anger and his bloodhounds that kneel
If he needs a third eye he just grows it
He just needs you to talk or to hand him his chalk
Or pick it up after he throws it

Can you please crawl out your window?
Use your arms and legs it won’t ruin you
How can you say he will haunt you?
You can go back to him any time you want to

Why does he look so righteous while your face is so changed
Are you frightened of the box you keep him in
While his genocide fools and his friends rearrange
Their religion of the little tin women
That backs up their views but your face is so bruised
Come on out the dark is beginning

Can you please crawl out your window?
Use your arms and legs it won’t ruin you
How can you say he will haunt you?
You can go back to him any time you want to

The Beatles - 'From A Window'

Late yesterday night, I saw a light shine from a window,
and as I looked again, your face came into sight.
I couldn't walk on unil you'd gone from your window.
I had to make you mine, I knew you were the one.
Oh, I would be so glad just to have a love like that,
oh, I would be true and I'd live my life for you.
So meet me tonight, just where the light shines from a window,
and as I take your hand, say that you'll be mine tonight.
Oh, I would be so glad just to have a love like that,
oh, I would be true and I'd live my life for you.
So meet me tonight, just where the light shines from a window,
and as I take your hand, say that you'll be mine tonight.
