After discussing the brief and jotting down ideas I put them down on paper in a more visual way and so everything feels slightly more planned and organised. Although the designing and final outcomes will be made after easter, this brief is heavily based on research and so a lot of prep work will be vital to the briefs success. Everything will need to be planned in order to get the best out of our trip to Paris.
initial notes:
Looking at different ways to display the photographs, grid like, would framing images suit the nature of the brief? would we use props for aesthetic purposes? things to consider...
Important to document and photograph everything whilst there and have a clear idea of themes that we want to try and stick to. We've decided that it would be limiting to split the themes up and photograph separate themes. Instead we will capture everything and bring all the images together and then split the themes based on the results. If themes are then not appropriate we will think about displaying and categorising them in different ways.We don't want to take a conventional approach to the brief and design and document as though we are catering for tourists or an itinerary guide - it is more a documentation of a city, which could also be used as some kind of visual guide for places in Paris.
