For this brief I wanted to create a modern, contemporary style design for the sleeves. Something I want to focus on heavily whilst on this brief is photography, I want all the images used in the artwork to be from photographs I have taken and then either edited, transformed or reconstructed in some way. Each image will be specific to the track title. I love the work of Leif Podhasjsky, who does a lot of designing for bands and record labels. Some of his designs are where I want to take inspiration from for my own record sleeves.
These colours are similar to some of the photographs I want to use in my imagery. I think the design of this one is quite minimal but works really nicely because of layout and colour scheme.
I have a couple of photographs I have taken looking at lighting and the sky, I thought I could use these images to create some kind of photomontage for one of the album sleeves, in a similar way to what Leif Podhajsky has done here, copying and repeating and making the image more abstract.
The colours work really well in all of his prints which is something I want to try and display through my designs, colour, lighting and photography.
