I have started researching into existing branding and drinks label designs in order to get some inspiration for the branding of the drinks club.
'Founded in November last year by art director Paul Belford and ex Wolff Olins creative director Martin Brown, Paul Belford Ltd has revealed its very first branding project - for Waddesdon Wine, the Rothschild's UK wine merchant…'
I really like the whole idea of the bottles being displayed in a designed wrapping paper, like below. I think this could be something that would work well for the Drinks Club. I have thought about either repeatedly placing the Drinks Club logo onto brown parchment style stock, I think this stock choice could emphasise the style of tradition for the branding.
Another idea would be to include the logo on the wrapping paper and create various styles with either various drink names/recipes printed on or a light hearted manifesto for the drinks club. If I were to make a variation of wrapping papers for wine bottles I would need to think about stock type in terms of colour and weighting. If three variations were made I would consider brown/parchment, off white/cream and black (typeface colour would then be picked accordingly to stock choice.)
I like this simple logo design for Baltica Vodka. I feel something more type based would be more suitable for the drinks club. I think this typeface compliments the type of bottle its displayed in, I think having the logo printed directly onto the bottle, like in this case, has worked well for the style of branding. Whilst I have thought about this I feel the style and design I want to try and demonstrate whilst working on the Drinks Club branding would benefit from a nice stock for the drinks label.
I think presentation is highly important when displaying the final brand, laying the logo out on a textured stock background would make my drinks club branding look a lot cleaner and professional and allows the logo to be displayed in a clear and legible way. I also like the idea of using an accent or symbol over a specific area of the text, whether that would be necessary is something I would have to look into when trying to create a strong concept or link it with a word from another language.
I really like this simple label design, clean and crisp with a suitable typeface. I also think the photography compliments the brand, this is something I will have to consider when photographing my final products. I have been thinking about potential props that could be used to represent the drinks club image in the best possible way. I think generally the images will look more effective and show the brand in a good light with traditional bottles and glasses, wooden surfaces to display the products and a drinks cabinet.

I think this is an unusual design for standard wine bottle labels you usually come across. I think it works well with the concept and I like how much type is actually positioned on the bottle. This is something that would work quite nicely for the Drinks Club if I could find some suitable and relevant passages that would work with Drinks club.
